Call for Submissions

Turtlefest is right around the corner, and it is currently the fastest growing event in Southern Ontario! Help us shell-abrate our local artists and kick off the weekend festivities with this unique Art Exhibit!

The Tillsonburg Station Arts Centre invites artists (emerging and established) based in Tillsonburg and Area to submit one of a kind, handmade works of art inspired by Turtles for our month-long art exhibit in our Patenaude Family Gallery. The exhibit will :

Highlight local artists using various mediums through a cohesive and whimsical theme
Draw patrons from all across Southern Ontario through the opening of the Turtlefest Weekend.
Activate Downtown Tillsonburg with exciting art bringing more cultural enriching experiences to our community and to the event.
Reflect the unique and growing community while encouraging exploration throughout Tillsonburg

Project Details

This is a Tillsonburg and Oxford County Area call to artists of all mediums to create a unique, one of a kind work highlighting “Let’s Shell-abrate our Art” .

The works will be featured in Tillsonburg Post, featured in the Downtown Tillsonburg Newsletter, Tillsonburg Station Arts Centre newsletter and various social media sites. The artworks will be on display in our Patenaude Family Gallery for the entire duration of the exhibit June 13th - July 11th 2025. This exhibit aims to celebrate our vibrant and unique artists and capture the essence of our Tillsonburg history from the story of Tillsonburg's founder, George Tillson, who once vowed to return as a turtle to witness how his town would thrive.

To enhance the experience, we will be holding a People’s Choice award of $250 for the selected artist with the most on site votes. The poll for this will be open to the public until July 11th, 2025 and the winning artist will be notified shortly after.
